Overview
Lead the commercial development in one of the region's thriving project logistics sectors by joining Roll Group as the Head of Commercial for the Middle East. This senior leadership position entails spearheading the regional commercial team, cultivating strategic client relations, exploring new market opportunities, and supporting the growth of land and maritime transport, heavy lift, and project logistics services.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and steer the annual commercial strategy for the Middle East region.
- Collaborate with management to set sales budgets, define market potential targets, and craft growth plans.
- Lead, mentor, and enhance the capabilities of the regional commercial team.
- Work in close partnership with global key account managers and collaborate on major projects with Global competency centers in Oil & Gas and Renewables sectors.
- Maintain and foster relationships with principal clients, partners, and decision-makers.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities across land and maritime transport, heavy lift, and project logistics areas.
- Oversee commercial proposals, negotiations, and contract dealings.
- Serve as the escalation point and project sponsor for commercial issues.
- Ensure smooth contract handovers to operations.
- Maintain accurate reporting through CRM systems, customer databases, and sales tools.
- Present company and project solutions to customers and stakeholders with clarity.
- Monitor market trends, competitor behavior, and developments in the region.
- Translate overarching company objectives into departmental goals and ensure prompt execution.
- Drive profitable growth and guarantee the achievement of regional commercial targets.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or an equivalent qualification; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Over 10 years of substantive experience in senior commercial leadership roles.
- Demonstrated success in sales, key account management, and team leadership.
- Industry experience in project logistics, heavy transport, marine transport, or heavy lift solutions.
- Solid understanding of engineering principles, contract management, and/or project management.
- Knowledge of the Middle Eastern market landscape.
- Strong communication, negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
