Job description

About the Company

Our client is a fast-expanding specialty Managing General Agent (MGA) focused on delivering technical excellence, operational agility, and data-driven insights to the insurance market. Having tripled their workforce this year, they are continually investing in talent, processes, and innovative technology to shape their future growth.

Role Overview

As the organisation scales up, they seek a forward-thinking Head of Change to spearhead enterprise-wide transformation efforts, ensuring critical strategic, operational, regulatory, and technological initiatives are executed successfully. This leadership position reports to the Director of Operations and entails defining and implementing the company-wide change strategy.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior executives to enhance underwriting, claims, operations, and technology functions while building a scalable, future-proof organisation where change is a strategic advantage rather than a support mechanism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the enterprise change strategy and roadmap in alignment with corporate growth and operational goals.
  • Manage the delivery of transformation projects across underwriting, claims, operations, and technology domains.
  • Implement governance structures, standards, and delivery frameworks to standardise and ensure the success of change initiatives.
  • Lead change management practices including stakeholder engagement, communication, training, business readiness, and sustainable adoption.
  • Work closely with executive leadership to prioritise initiatives and serve as the liaison among business, technology, and external partners.
  • Ensure all change activities comply with FCA guidelines, delegated authority protocols, and risk management frameworks.
  • Define KPIs and develop reporting systems to evaluate programme effectiveness and keep senior management informed.
  • Foster a culture focused on continuous improvement through automation, digitisation, process simplification, and operational enhancement.
  • Build and strengthen the organisational change management function by embedding best practices and maintaining high-quality delivery standards.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Established track record in leading enterprise-wide change and transformation programmes.
  • Strong leadership capabilities in managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience engaging Executive and Board members.
  • Robust programme governance and multitasking project delivery skills.
  • Experience in driving operational improvements and business process reengineering.
  • Commercial acumen for balancing strategic and operational priorities.
  • Data-driven mindset using KPIs and metrics to assess programme outcomes.
  • Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and designing scalable work methodologies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven history of leading large-scale business transformation and enterprise change initiatives.
  • Professional certification in Change Management (e.g., Prosci, APMG, CMI) or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and certifications such as ScrumMaster, AgilePM, or SAFe.
  • Successful track record in embedding change and driving adoption across multiple business units.
  • Experience in operational improvement, process redesign, and efficiency enhancement projects.
  • Competence in managing third-party vendors, technology partners, or insurance service providers.
  • Preferred background in insurance, financial services, or regulated industries.

Role Details and Benefits

  • Competitive annual salary up to £100,000 plus bonus incentives.
  • Comprehensive benefits including health insurance and pension schemes.
  • Fully remote working model with office access in Bristol and London.
  • Significant leadership opportunity within one of the UK's fastest-growing specialty MGAs.
  • Autonomy and direct collaboration with senior leadership to drive the company’s next growth phase.
