Job description
About AIOS
AIOS is pioneering the development of the world's first comprehensive AI doctor platform. Currently operating at $350 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR), the company has rapidly grown from $10 million ARR just a year ago. Serving over 150,000 monthly patients through Bolt Pharmacy, its flagship UK brand, AIOS remains profitable and is poised for aggressive expansion.
The company’s growth strategy leverages two primary insights: firstly, the AI doctor that harnesses GLP-1 medications—the fastest expanding consumer product ever—will achieve significant market momentum; secondly, the vast $2 trillion European healthcare sector remains underserved by top innovators.
Expansion Roadmap
- Achieve $100 million ARR by late 2025 leveraging the UK GLP-1 market, growing from $10 million over the past six months.
- Scale to $1 billion ARR by the end of 2026 by expanding the UK active GLP-1 patient base from 3,000 to 150,000.
- Extend to $10 billion ARR by the close of 2028 through aggressive European market blitzscaling to become the continent's largest GLP-1 provider.
- Reach $100 billion ARR by 2031 through obtaining regulatory approvals for Full Autonomous Prescribing (FAP) and securing large-scale contracts with European payers, thereby replacing much of human labor.
- Attain $1 trillion ARR by 2035 enabling AIOS’s full-stack AI doctor to treat patients globally with a single line of code and zero human intervention.
This vision cements AIOS as the future world's first trillion-dollar healthcare company.
Role Overview: Head of Expansion
As Head of Expansion, you will spearhead the rapid growth of the global GLP-1 customer base by preparing AIOS for swift market entry across Europe. Your primary mission is to ensure that all necessary legal, clinical, pharmaceutical, and operational infrastructure is established and compliant in each priority European country, enabling the Growth team to test and scale quickly.
You will identify and prioritize expansion targets by evaluating market opportunity, consumer demand, regulatory challenges, and time-to-launch efficiencies. Additionally, you will:
- Close gaps in legal, clinical, supply, and operational domains in countries where AIOS currently operates.
- Diagnose key blockers preventing launches in upcoming target markets.
- Determine the fastest compliant approach to market entry via internal capability building, local partnerships, or acquisitions.
This role demands hands-on leadership, including research, negotiation, due diligence, and execution. Success will be measured by AIOS’s ability to launch compliantly in European markets within weeks, not years, aiming to serve over one million patients in Europe by 2028. High achievers in this position may advance to senior operational roles such as VP or COO.
Work Environment & Reporting
This full-time, largely remote role includes necessary travel throughout Europe. You will work asynchronously, aligned to be available until midday Pacific Time for calls. You will report directly to CEO Richie and collaborate closely with key leadership including the Head of Business Operations, Chief of Staff, and Head of Performance. Note that working long hours and weekends are expected responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle European expansion from research to operational launch readiness, transforming market opportunities into active compliant patient service.
- Prioritize target countries based on market size, demand, unit economics, regulatory complexity, and launch speed potential.
- Develop and execute plans to remove launch barriers in each priority market.
- Decide and implement the optimal approach to market entry—build capabilities in-house, partner locally, or acquire infrastructure.
- Secure all legal permits, registrations, contracts, and compliance frameworks needed for operations.
- Establish clinical infrastructure and initial staffing where needed.
- Ensure reliable medication supply chains, pharmacy partnerships, and fulfillment capabilities for scalable launch execution.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to equip the Growth team for market testing and scaling.
- Create and refine standardized playbooks to reduce time and cost for subsequent market entries.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years in expansion, market launches, business operations, or general management roles, preferably within high-growth startups.
- Direct experience managing European market launches from concept through live operations.
- Strong market judgment: ability to assess viable markets and select build/partner/acquire strategies.
- Proven track record in hands-on execution including partnership negotiations, contract reviews, entity setup, and supply resolution.
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments interfacing across legal, clinical, and operations functions while retaining ownership.
- Rapid learner of new markets who excels at identifying critical issues and making decisions quickly without lengthy research.
- Experienced project manager capable of concurrently leading multiple country launches with clear accountability and deadlines.
- Skilled at standardizing processes and scaling playbooks to increase launch efficiency.
- Ownership mentality with a founder-like approach, relentlessly driving results without waiting for perfect conditions.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience operating in heavily regulated sectors while balancing speed and compliance.
- Proven success launching across multiple European countries, especially Germany, Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, or Nordics.
- Background in evaluating partnerships, joint ventures, licensing, or acquisitions including due diligence and deal closing.
- AI-savvy individual using AI tools to enhance market research, regulatory analysis, opportunity evaluation, planning, and execution automation.
- Strong track record in building and managing high-performance, multinational teams with zero tolerance for incompetence.
- Entrepreneurial experience, including founding or early joining of startups with an ambition for future company building.
- Exceptional problem solver adaptable to any environment or challenge to drive meaningful progress.
Core Cultural Values
- Dedication to the mission of serving over 100 million patients by 2035 with transformative care.
- Unyielding integrity especially amidst ambiguity, ensuring ethical behavior without compromise.
- Paranoia-driven focus anticipating challenges and maintaining relentless progress.
- Striving for excellence and rejecting mediocrity or inefficiency.
- Honest and transparent communications fostering candid feedback and respect.
- Extreme sense of urgency, delivering outputs rapidly and effectively under intense conditions.
- Frugality in spending and resource utilization, promoting sustainability and respect for resources.
- Resilience and resourcefulness to break through barriers independently.
- Focus on meaningful long-term goals rather than short-term recognition.
- Customer centricity: Delivering outstanding value with every step and decision.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary ranging from $200,000 to $400,000 annually.
- Equity stake between 0.15% and 0.5%, aligning your success with company growth.
- Full health insurance coverage where applicable.
- Paid time off with a minimum of two weeks plus national holidays.
- Fully remote global work environment with a distributed team.
- Annual personal development budget of $1,200 for books, courses, and coaching.
- Annual wellness budget of $1,200 for gym memberships and health applications.
- Regular biweekly health and work coaching sessions to maintain peak performance.
- Provision of MacBook and necessary work-from-home equipment.
- Opportunity to influence and shape company culture at an early and formative stage.
