Position Summary

The Head of Business Operations for Americas & EMEA leads revenue growth, market expansion, and sales team scaling across North America, South America, Europe, and the Middle East. This senior leader manages direct and distributor sales forces to maximize revenue for semiconductor and powder coating equipment lines.

Organizational Structure

  • Reports to the Chief Commercial Officer.
  • Located hybrid with frequent presence at headquarters in Thornton, CO.
  • Leads teams in the Americas including business development, account management, applications directors, technical sales engineers, and marketing.
  • Oversees technical directors and sales engineers across EMEA, plus manages distributor and representative networks in Europe and the Middle East.
  • Coordinates with APAC operations leadership to maintain aligned global sales strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and scale multi-year sales plans aligned with revenue goals.
  • Collaborate at the executive level with the CCO, CSO, and COO to build scalable growth frameworks.
  • Own P&L, revenue targets, budgeting, and resource management for the regions' product lines.
  • Drive sales of core equipment portfolios including semiconductor tools and powder coating platforms.
  • Optimize and manage global third-party distributor and representative networks to increase market penetration.
  • Support major capital equipment deals valued in the multi-million-dollar range.
  • Partner across R&D, engineering, and business development to refine pricing and proposals for research and enterprise clients.
  • Standardize sales processes using HubSpot, QuickBooks, and internal systems to create a data-driven commercial operation.
  • Implement data-centric forecasting to improve sales pipeline accuracy.
  • Apply Lean and Agile principles to reduce administrative burden and accelerate customer purchase cycles.
  • Lead executive presentations for internal stakeholders, boards, and key global customers.
  • Coach and mentor regional leaders and technical teams using structured methodologies to drive quota success.

Candidate Requirements

  • MBA degree required, preferably with an emphasis on technology management or related fields.
  • At least 15 years of proven success in sales leadership and business strategy development.
  • Extensive experience (15+ years) managing complex, long sales cycles for high-value capital equipment in matrixed environments.
  • Proven skills leading multi-layered sales teams with both direct and indirect reports for over 15 years.
  • More than 10 years managing scientific or semiconductor equipment distributor channels.
  • Significant expertise (10+ years) scaling commercial markets for integrated hardware-software deep-tech products.
  • At least 6 years of direct sales success in thin-film or atomic layer deposition technology sectors.
  • Strong familiarity with sales and operational frameworks such as Sandler, Miller Heiman, SPIN Selling, Integrity Selling, and Lean operations.
  • Proficiency with HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipeliner CRM, Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, SharePoint, and Teams platforms.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Total On-Target Earnings range from $355,000 to $495,000 plus equity options.
  • Base salary between $195,000 and $235,000, paid twice monthly, competitive with the Colorado executive market for technical hardware roles.
  • Variable pay target between $160,000 and $260,000.
  • Executive incentives including stock options, 401(k) matching, premium health insurance, and standard paid time off.
