About Credfino
Credfino delivers accounting, tax, and back-office assistance to US CPA firms. The company is building an AI-centric operational model to enhance team efficiency, security, and capability, while facilitating modernization of client processes.
Role Overview
We seek a Head of AI responsible for the end-to-end management of AI adoption, encompassing strategy, safe use, training, tooling, and hands-on automation. This unique hybrid position requires understanding US accounting and tax workflows, contemporary AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT, IT security principles, and no-code automation techniques. The role includes internal adoption leadership, enforcing safe use standards, and translating innovative practices from leading US CPA firms into effective solutions for our clients. This position balances strategic planning, training, and automation engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the roadmap for AI adoption within Credfino's teams.
- Identify and prioritize impactful AI use cases across internal tax prep, bookkeeping, reconciliations, reviews, and client communication processes.
- Analyze external use cases from US CPA firms and the wider market to determine applicability.
- Increase measurable adoption of AI and technology across the organization.
- Continuously explore new AI tools relevant to US accounting and tax, promoting awareness and selecting essential tools for staff training.
- Create and maintain policies defining permitted AI usage, data handling, and compliance requirements.
- Protect sensitive customer, personal, and financial data by enforcing restrictions on public AI tools and approving safe tools and data boundaries.
- Collaborate with IT and security teams regarding tooling, access, and adherence to vendor and data privacy standards such as SOC 2, GLBA, and IRS Publication 4557.
- Conduct ongoing AI training for staff, including usage scenarios, prompting techniques, agent building, and workflow development using Claude and ChatGPT.
- Design and maintain rolling monthly training programs with practical, real-work assignments to boost team capabilities.
- Foster internal AI champions and measure improvements in skills.
- Develop custom automations using Make, n8n, and similar no-code platforms, including API integrations.
- Prototype AI-based agents and workflows, scaling effective projects or handing them off appropriately.
- Assess and pilot new AI tools and technologies.
- Manage AI projects with clear ownership, deadlines, and expected results.
- Report progress and return on investment to leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Experience or strong foundational knowledge in US accounting and tax, with familiarity of CPA firm operations.
- Proficient in practical use of AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude, including prompting, agent creation, and workflow application.
- Strong understanding of IT security and safe data handling principles, particularly concerning AI tools.
- Experience developing AI and technology usage policies or guidelines for organizations.
- Hands-on expertise in creating automations using Make, n8n, or comparable no-code/low-code platforms.
- Proven ability to design and implement effective training programs.
- Solid project management skills.
- Direct experience at or supporting US CPA firms.
- Knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks and Xero, including API integrations.
- Familiarity with API scripting or light programming (Python, JavaScript).
- Exposure to compliance frameworks including SOC 2 and WISP.
- Experience in change management to drive technology adoption.
- Strong project management experience.
