Forward Deployed AI Integrator – Field Engineering

Position Overview

The Forward Deployed AI Integrator role is fully focused on embedding AI-driven workflow improvements within AWS's regional Field Engineering teams. This position involves direct collaboration with engineers to identify promising automation and AI integration opportunities, foster adoption of AI-assisted tools, and translate successful pilots into standardized practices tailored for each region.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely embedded with regional Field Engineering teams to uncover and prioritize impactful AI-enhanced workflows.
• Champion adoption of AI tools aiding investigations, reporting, operational analysis, and engineering tooling across the region.
• Collaborate with engineers to convert time-consuming manual processes into scalable AI-based solutions.
• Create and maintain reusable workflow templates, playbooks, and documentation to support regional standardization.
• Coordinate with GenAI platform and internal tooling teams to facilitate timely delivery within approved environments.
• Train and empower Field Engineers on approved, practical AI tools including Python scripting, Kiro, and proprietary AI platforms.
• Analyze and present adoption and operational performance metrics to regional and senior leadership.
• Detect and reduce duplicated efforts by sharing reusable capabilities between regional teams.
• Contribute to a wider community by exchanging best practices, learnings, and successful outcomes.
• Support engineering initiatives like waveform analytics, reporting automation, operational dashboards, and tooling enhancements.

Typical Workday

The role involves active embedding within regional teams, assisting engineers during investigations, crafting AI automation solutions, and coaching colleagues for broad adoption. The integrator combines technical expertise with operational insight, acting swiftly and iterating based on results while known as the regional AI implementation specialist.

About the Team

AWS Field Engineering covers diverse global infrastructure operations including investigations, systems troubleshooting, tooling, and process improvements. The team actively develops AI-enabled workflows to boost efficiency and accelerate engineering tasks. This role is one of the initial regional AI integration positions aimed at establishing a scalable model.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Machine Learning Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in technical program management, workflow automation, or operational analytics.
• Proven familiarity with GenAI platforms, agentic tooling, or AI-driven operational workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in large-scale infrastructure, operational engineering, or data center environments.
• Experience collaborating directly with operations teams to implement workflow transformation.
• Expertise in engineering investigations, reporting automation, or process acceleration projects.
• Work experience in or support for the EMEA region or other global regions.
• Ability to influence adoption and change within technical teams without formal authority.
• Strong communication skills for effectively conveying impact and progress to engineering and leadership.
