Job description
Position Overview
This leadership role involves providing strategic direction and senior guidance to all Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) within Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust. The Head of Allied Health Professionals ensures the professional agenda is advanced effectively, representing all fourteen AHP professions at the highest organizational levels. The postholder is responsible for fostering person-centered, evidence-based, safe, and impactful clinical practices primarily within mental health and learning disability services. They champion ongoing professional development and innovation among AHP staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visionary and effective leadership for all AHPs, serving as both ambassador and role model.
- Ensure each AHP's clinical expertise is recognized and all professionals operate within governed competencies and ethical codes.
- Collaborate with other professional leads—including Nursing and Social Work—to cultivate a unified healthcare vision.
- Support and monitor professional leads’ engagement with their respective external professional bodies, fostering access to local and national resources.
- Drive continuous improvement of AHPs' contributions to integrated multi-disciplinary care pathways.
- Manage financial resources related to the Allied Health Professional leads.
- Advise on the optimal deployment of team resources and oversee application of relevant clinical and professional policies.
