Role Overview
The Head of Accounting is a full-time, onsite position located in Al Khobar. This role takes full responsibility for managing the accounting function including oversight of the general ledger, coordinating month-end and year-end closing activities, and ensuring the accurate, prompt generation of financial statements. The role encompasses directing financial reporting tasks, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and compliance regulations, and liaising with external and internal auditors.
Key duties involve establishing and refining accounting policies and procedures, overseeing cash flow and budgeting efforts, providing financial analyses to inform strategic decision-making, and supervising the accounting team for effective performance and development. Collaborating closely with finance and operations teams is crucial to uphold strong financial governance and internal controls.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of core accounting principles and practices.
- Expertise in preparing and reviewing financial statements and reports, including statutory and management reports.
- Strong financial analytical abilities to interpret data and support forecasting and business strategy.
- Prior experience leading and mentoring accounting personnel.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards; experience within fintech or financial services sectors is a plus.
- Proficiency with accounting software, ERP systems, and advanced spreadsheet/reporting tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; professional credentials such as CPA or CMA are preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail, integrity, and capability to collaborate effectively with cross-departmental teams on-site in Al Khobar.
