Role overview
Airbus Helicopters Arabia for Aircraft Maintenance is looking for a Head of Accounting to lead accounting operations, strengthen reporting quality, and support compliance, audits, and closing activities at the Riyadh location. This is a fixed-term, onsite role within a professional accounting environment.
Financial reporting and group consolidation
- Prepare financial statement reports and ensure they are submitted on time.
- Build and combine reporting packages for group-level consolidation, including ICART and FACTS+.
- Work closely with the Group Consolidation team on a regular basis.
- Review journal vouchers and examine general ledger activity.
- Confirm that Airbus processes and compliance requirements are properly applied.
- Perform monthly variance analysis on financial statements to help answer questions from local finance and headquarters finance teams.
Annual audit coordination
- Take ownership of coordinating the annual financial audit.
- Prepare statements and supporting documents requested by auditors.
- Manage audit timelines and follow up across functions to meet different audit needs.
- Liaise with auditors and arrange meetings with teams such as Controlling, Procurement, HR, and Operations, while helping close any coordination gaps.
- Assist the Tax Manager with finalizing annual income tax returns, including the review of revenue, foreign and local purchases, and subcontracting expenses.
Accounting operations and closing
- Oversee banking payments and treasury-related activities.
- Guide the accounting team in daily work, check accuracy and completeness, and encourage professional growth.
- Ensure monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities are completed accurately and on time by coordinating with Controlling on cost center and project-related income and expenses.
- Contribute to payroll initiatives, withholding tax applications, payables and receivables controls, and cash flow monitoring.
- Lead people effectively and build a team capable of delivering strong results.
- Provide backup support during team leave and handle ad hoc finance assignments as needed.
Accounting standards and process improvement
- Understand and apply accounting changes linked to organizational restructuring.
- Continuously improve accounting policies, controls, reporting, and procedures.
- Support tax assessment work and assist the Tax Manager with tax authority requirements.
- Monitor cash flow, payables, receivables, affiliated-company balances, and government utility obligations.
- Contribute to stronger accounting and reporting practices.
Cross-functional and cross-country coordination
- Review intercompany balances, clearing approaches, and reconciliations with the AR accountant.
- Coordinate with group colleagues to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Support regional One Roof Finance initiatives.
Experience, qualifications, and capabilities
The role calls for a strong accounting leader with extensive experience in both local and multinational environments, along with the ability to deliver accurate work under pressure and manage several priorities at once. The position also requires a solid understanding of finance, accounting, internal controls, compliance, IFRS, local taxation, and local commercial law.
