Role Overview
This leadership position at BMO supervises the enterprise-wide managerial and leadership strategy, steering a suite of initiatives aimed at cultivating exceptional leaders aligned with the organization's Purpose and strategic goals. The role is pivotal in facilitating senior leaders' adoption of new mindsets and behaviors necessary for thriving in a digital, hybrid, and dynamic environment, overseeing leadership programs and partnering closely with People & Culture to enhance business results.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a multi-year strategic roadmap to drive sustainable behavioral change and elevate performance standards across the enterprise.
- Lead integration efforts by collaborating with Strategy, Communications, Culture, and HR departments to coordinate leadership initiatives.
- Oversee the leadership steering committee and liaise with the Leadership Succession & Executive Talent Management teams on critical projects.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership in business decision-making and in executing strategies related to leadership capabilities.
- Guide leaders through behavioral and operational transformations.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of financial services and associated business challenges at a group-wide level.
- Partner with stakeholders to design premier leadership capability programs and strategically manage leadership curricula.
- Continuously evaluate program effectiveness to identify expansion or modification opportunities.
- Oversee complex strategic programs, managing multiple projects and diverse stakeholder groups with accountability for program lifecycle, budget, and compliance.
- Develop comprehensive reporting and dashboards to track program progress and success metrics.
- Lead change management efforts by creating and implementing plans that foster stakeholder engagement, communication consistency, and behavioral adoption.
- Cultivate strong networks internally and externally to drive best practices and meet business goals.
- Monitor industry trends and proactively respond with informed changes and creative problem-solving.
- Analyze complex issues systematically, making recommendations and prioritizing business initiatives based on data-driven insights.
- Ensure adherence to Bank risk, regulatory, and compliance standards while managing financial and operational governance.
Qualifications
- More than 15 years of relevant leadership experience complemented by a post-secondary degree or equivalent education and experience.
- Proven senior leadership expertise in learning and development strategy and program delivery.
- Recognized as an innovative thought leader with deep industry knowledge.
- Expert-level strategic thinking, project and program management, communication, analytical skills, and influencing capabilities.
- Preferred facilitation skills and strong collaboration focus across diverse groups.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and make decisions based on data analysis.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary ranges between $110,500 and $192,500 annually, varying based on experience, skills, location, and other factors. Compensation may include commissions, performance-based bonuses, and other rewards. Benefits offered include health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
