Role Overview
We are seeking a full-time Hazop Chairman based onsite in Saudi Arabia to lead Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies within construction, oil and gas, and infrastructure projects. This role involves planning and facilitating structured HAZOP workshops, ensuring correct application of methodologies, and guiding multidisciplinary teams to identify potential process hazards and operability concerns.
Key Duties
- Organize and lead HAZOP workshops, ensuring adherence to established methodology.
- Prepare study agendas and maintain thorough documentation throughout the HAZOP process.
- Review technical process designs, including P&IDs, process descriptions, and cause-effect diagrams.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and safety departments to gather inputs.
- Document findings, assess risks, assign risk levels, and oversee recommendation implementation.
- Compile clear, actionable reports aligned with project needs and regulatory compliance.
- Support continuous improvement efforts in risk assessment procedures and mentor junior team members on best practices.
- Coordinate with project management to integrate HAZOP insights into project design and execution.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- In-depth knowledge of HAZOP methodology and process safety management pertaining to oil and gas, construction, and infrastructure projects.
- Experience interpreting and analyzing technical documents such as P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and engineering specifications adhering to industry standards.
- Strong leadership and facilitation abilities for multidisciplinary workshops, ensuring effective communication and decision-making.
- Background in process engineering or a related field with practical experience in plant operations, commissioning, or project execution.
- Excellent skills in technical writing, documentation control, and maintaining precise records of findings and recommendations.
- Familiarity with international safety and regulatory standards including OSHA, API, IEC, and ISO related to process safety and risk management.
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, process engineering, or a closely related discipline, or comparable industrial project experience.
