Role overview
KBS (Kellermeyer Bergensons Services) is hiring a Handyperson for an immediate, permanent position in a busy onsite environment. This role suits someone who enjoys staying active, working at pace, and helping maintain a safe and orderly workplace.

Location: Gainesville, FL
Shift timing: 4:00 am to 9:00 am
Starting pay: $14.00 per hour
What you'll do
- Carry out assigned tasks in line with standard procedures and the site’s operating schedule.
- Clean rooms, corridors, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, stairways, and windows.
- Sweep areas, remove trash and debris, clean spills, and mop floors across sales and seating areas.
- Check waste containers regularly, emptying them when needed.
- Gather recycling materials, combine them as required, and place them in the correct bins.
- Clean glass and mirrored surfaces and polish stainless steel.
- Dust shelves, fixtures, products, furniture, and equipment.
- Keep customer and team restrooms clean, stocked, and in good order.
- Complete sweep logs when instructed.
- Use and sanitize equipment correctly and safely.
- Follow health, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures at all times.
- Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, doors, windows, and sills.
- Perform minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing repairs.
- Handle touch-up and finishing paint work.
- Replace light bulbs and replenish restroom supplies.
- Set up and take down chairs, tables, and equipment for meetings and functions.
- Report completed work daily, either verbally or through written work orders.
What the employer is looking for
- Clear communication skills for dealing with customers and management.
- Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and chemical-handling documents, typically in English and sometimes in Spanish where required by law.
- Strong judgment, multitasking ability, and a practical balance between planning and execution.
- At least 3 years of experience in building maintenance.
- Willingness to use the KBSPresence mobile app on a personal device for timekeeping, attendance tracking, training access, and work-related notices.
- Ability to comply with the requirement for personal-device use for clocking in and out, with cell phone reimbursement provided where local law applies.
