Hairstylist

Overview

We are hiring a hairstylist to work in a professional barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio in Quispamsis, New Brunswick. This role is based entirely on site, so the work must be performed at the physical location with no remote option.

Language Requirement

English is required for this position.

Education

You should have an other trades certificate or diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

Previous experience is considered an asset, though it is not strictly required.

Work Setting

The position is in a barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio.

Responsibilities

• Arrange client appointments.
• Cut and shape hair according to customer instructions and preferences.
• Wash clients' hair.
• Shave and trim facial hair such as beards and moustaches.
• Carry out additional hair services including waving, straightening, tinting, and scalp conditioning massages.
• Use bleach, tints, dyes, or rinses to add colour, highlights, frosting, or streaks to hair.
• Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm, and style hair.
• Recommend hairstyles that suit the client's features and preferences.
• Handle receptionist duties as needed.

Credentials

A valid hairstylist licence is required.
