About the Company

Grand Mercure Bengaluru Gopalan Mall, managed by Accor, is situated near central Bengaluru close to major tech parks and commercial and residential zones. The hotel features 212 modern and luxurious rooms including 29 suites with private terraces, 10 elegant meeting venues accommodating from 20 to 400 guests, and various amenities such as an all-day dining restaurant, café with alfresco seating, fitness center, spa, swimming pool, entertainment area, library lounge, art gallery, and business center.

Position Overview

The role focuses on delivering professional and efficient food and beverage service that exceeds guest expectations. It involves warmly welcoming guests, addressing any issues impacting the hotel's interests, and collaborating with management and other departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly and proficient food and beverage service meeting and exceeding guest expectations.
  • Greet guests according to established standards.
  • Highlight any issues affecting Grand Mercure Bengaluru to management promptly.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and resolve complaints to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain seamless coordination with all hotel departments to ensure cooperation, productivity, morale, and high-quality guest service.
  • Identify cost-effective use of resources and educate team members on resource optimization.
  • Set up operational equipment appropriately; inspect linen and condiments before service.
  • Gain familiarity with menu items and be capable of clearing and resetting tables efficiently.
  • In absence of the Food & Beverage Team Leader, take guest orders and advise on special menu items.
  • Understand hotel layout, including fire exits and elevator locations, to ensure guest safety.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, emergencies, or suspicious activity to the Food & Beverage Team Leader promptly.
  • Minimize breakage, pilferage, and spoilage to the lowest levels possible.

Terms and Conditions

  • Employees may be required to work extended hours or stay back as per hotel operational needs.
  • Flexibility to work night shifts or other shifts as required by departmental or hotel demands is necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, or a related discipline is required.
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in food and beverage service preferable, ideally within a hotel or upscale restaurant environment.
  • Fresh candidates with appropriate hospitality training are encouraged to apply.
