Job description
Role overview
You’ll lead growth for a fast-scaling, product-led marketplace platform and take full ownership of the funnel from acquisition through revenue. This position is highly strategic and focuses on building durable growth systems that improve self-serve signups, activation, retention, and marketplace participation. Core growth levers include SEO, programmatic SEO, AEO, conversion rate optimization, experimentation, and product-led growth tactics.
You will work alongside Product, Engineering, and Design to remove friction from the user journey and improve product adoption using data and testing. The role is intended for someone who has operated in a genuine PLG setting, where user behavior, self-serve conversion, and product usage directly influenced growth. You will report to the founders and help shape growth strategy, partner management, and investment decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Take end-to-end ownership of the growth funnel, including acquisition, activation, onboarding, retention, and marketplace participation, with direct responsibility for signups, traffic, and pipeline goals.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Design to identify where users drop off and to improve journeys through testing and iteration.
- Expand and maintain programmatic SEO pages, free tools, and other organic assets, while uncovering new opportunities to increase traffic and signups over time.
- Lead conversion optimization across landing pages, blog articles, programmatic SEO pages, in-product flows, and paid acquisition touchpoints.
- Drive AEO and AI-search visibility across platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and other emerging discovery channels.
- Use product analytics and behavioral data to surface growth opportunities and prioritize improvements that raise activation, engagement, and retention.
- Coordinate external partners such as writers, PR firms, paid media contractors, and other vendors, and ensure their work is tied to measurable outcomes.
- Create growth goals, reporting structures, and executive dashboards that connect acquisition efforts to activation, retention, CAC, traffic, and revenue.
Candidate profile
This is a fit for a seasoned growth marketer who has led demand generation or growth programs in a PLG environment and can demonstrate impact across the full funnel. The ideal person brings strong search-led growth expertise, a testing mindset, and the ability to work cross-functionally while managing outside specialists.
Required experience and capabilities
- At least 6 years of experience in growth marketing or demand generation, including a minimum of 3 years at a product-led growth company where self-serve acquisition, onboarding, activation, and product adoption were central.
- Demonstrated ownership of growth metrics spanning acquisition, activation, conversion, retention, and revenue.
- Clear success scaling organic traffic and signups through SEO, programmatic SEO, content, and search-based growth work.
- Strong knowledge of SEO, AEO, and AI-search visibility, with the ability to explain how to rank in both traditional search results and AI-generated answers.
- Proven ability to improve conversion performance, such as signup rate, activation rate, onboarding completion, or similar CRO outcomes.
- Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, and Design to enhance user experience, adoption, and growth results.
- Hands-on use of analytics and experimentation platforms such as PostHog, GA4, HubSpot, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar tools.
- Proven record of managing and holding accountable contractors, agencies, PR partners, writers, and paid media vendors.
- Experience operating at scale, including managing millions of organic impressions and generating substantial inbound signups through organic or product-led channels.
Compensation and benefits
- Hybrid setup in Vancouver, British Columbia, with three days per week in the office.
- Base salary of CAD 105,000 to CAD 140,000.
- Performance bonus of 30%, bringing total on-target earnings to CAD 150,000 to CAD 200,000.
- Three weeks of paid vacation plus public holidays.
- Paid sick leave.
- Annual performance reviews.
