Job description
About the Company
Our client is an early-stage health technology startup focused on solving prior authorization challenges for specialty pharmaceutical therapies through agentic AI. Their platform alleviates administrative burdens across drugs and payers, is at no cost to providers, complies with HIPAA, and is already implemented in thousands of medical practices.
Role Overview
This position is the top priority hire for the go-to-market team and represents the inaugural role in this capacity. The primary task involves extensive outbound communication, engaging practice managers, owners, and physicians, managing the entire sales cycle from outreach, discovery, product demonstration, to close.
Beyond executing sales, you will contribute significantly to strategy development by selecting target specialties, experimenting with outreach channels, refining messaging, and iterating based on feedback to optimize the sales process.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a high volume of outbound calls to specialty medical practices, primarily by phone.
- Qualify prospects and lead product demonstrations with minimal initial training.
- Manage the complete sales cycle including evaluation and closing deals.
- Clearly explain the complexities of prior authorization and pharmacy benefits to potential clients.
- Ensure smooth transition of new customers to the onboarding team.
- Continuously enhance targeting strategies, messaging, and sales processes as the function develops.
Candidate Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience in sales involving regular outbound efforts.
- Strong motivation to build a career in sales.
- Ability to quickly absorb and clearly communicate complex healthcare topics.
- High level of autonomy and a strong sense of ownership.
- Reside in New York and willing to work onsite 4 to 5 days per week.
- Previous exposure to healthcare or health technology is highly preferred.
