About the Role

The Glenshire Group, a well-established Scottish family-owned enterprise active in convenience retail, hospitality, property, and franchise restaurants, is recruiting a seasoned Group Head of Accounts & Finance. This senior leadership role is pivotal for overseeing the finance and accounts functions, enhancing financial governance, and steering strategic financial direction across multiple business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and shape the Group’s financial strategy to align with business objectives and expansion plans.
  • Manage all financial reporting, including management accounts, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and planning activities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports across diverse business segments.
  • Maintain exemplary financial controls encompassing governance, compliance, reconciliations, and risk management.
  • Provide insightful commercial analysis to support operational decisions, investments, and strategic initiatives.
  • Drive the standardization and continual improvement of finance processes, systems, and reports throughout the Group.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, banks, professional advisors, and other key external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with leaders across retail, hospitality, property, franchises, and support functions to enhance profitability and performance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-caliber finance team fostering ownership, accountability, and succession planning.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified Accountant with ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accreditation.
  • Over 8 years of senior financial leadership experience.
  • Extensive senior finance experience in multi-site, retail, hospitality, consumer, or services sectors.
  • Strong competence in management accounting, financial control, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and statutory reporting.
  • Proven ability to lead finance teams and act as a trusted adviser to senior management.
  • Experience in financial transformation, process optimization, and governance improvement.
  • Commercially savvy with skills to convert financial data into actionable business decisions.
  • Proven track record in managing audits, banking relationships, and compliance.

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to retail, hospitality, franchise, leisure, property sectors, or multi-entity businesses.
  • Experience in supporting growth initiatives, acquisitions, integration, or organizational change projects.
