Role Summary

We are hiring a seasoned, commercially driven finance leader to lead ramsac's Finance department as the senior full-time finance executive. Collaborating directly with our COO, you will manage daily operations of the Finance team, spearhead operational transformation initiatives, and shape the commercial finance strategies throughout the business.

In this position, you will oversee a Finance team through transformative changes influenced by AI and automation, redesigning the team structure and workflows to enhance efficiency. This role combines sound financial oversight—including precise reporting and rigorous processes—with a commercial focus on pricing, margins, and profitability to enable scalable, profitable growth.

Core Objectives

• Create a cutting-edge, AI-driven Finance function by redesigning operational processes and leveraging automation and AI to minimize administrative tasks and emphasize analysis and insights.
• Implement commercial pricing strategies and margin governance in partnership with the Head of Technical Development, ensuring financial considerations are embedded early in product and service development.
• Collaborate across departments to identify and rectify inefficiencies impacting Finance, enhancing cost control and accuracy.
• Serve as an integral part of the Leadership Team, influencing strategic and investment decisions while partnering closely with the COO on broader financial strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide full leadership and stewardship of the Finance department, driving its transformation into an AI-augmented, high-value operation.
• Work closely with the COO to translate strategic financial goals into operational outcomes while delivering commercial insights to shape the strategy.
• Drive pricing discipline, margin oversight, and client profitability analytics to inform product innovations and major commercial deals.
• Lead the adoption of automation and AI tools across finance processes in collaboration with internal AI engineers to reduce manual effort and close efficiency gaps.
• Manage all financial planning, forecasting, and reporting activities to supply the Leadership Team with actionable insights that protect and enhance margins.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including audit coordination, corporation tax, VAT, and payroll, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors and financial bodies.
• Act as a constructive and vocal Leadership Team member contributing a financial perspective to growth, strategy, and investment deliberations.
• Coach and develop the Finance team through significant change, prioritizing morale and well-being.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with at least 5 years post-qualification experience.
• Proven finance leadership experience with comprehensive responsibility for month-end close, reporting, and financial controls.
• Demonstrated ability in leading finance teams during periods of process transformation, with a focus on people development and workplace well-being.
• Curious about AI applications and experienced in leading system or software tool implementations within finance.
• Strong commercial mindset with experience driving pricing strategy, margin analysis, and client profitability management.
• Skilled in cross-functional collaboration to identify root causes of finance-related process issues and improving interdepartmental workflows.
• Confident in contributing at the Leadership Team level, effectively partnering with the COO and influencing strategic business decisions.
• Highly self-motivated and resilient, capable of balancing transformative projects alongside ongoing financial controls.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in IT Managed Services, MSP, or businesses blending project and recurring revenue models.
• Hands-on experience using AI and automation tools to eliminate manual finance tasks.
• Experience in a fast-growing environment requiring agility and ownership.
