Job description

Company Overview

Finatal is a dynamic, Private Equity-backed retail and manufacturing group with operations across Europe, generating approximately 3100 million in annual revenues. The company is on an aggressive expansion path and seeks a strategic Group CFO to lead financial transformation and support international growth.

Role Summary

The Group CFO will serve as a key partner to the CEO, overseeing finance, IT, and controlling functions across the group. The position involves driving financial performance, enhancing operational efficiency, managing budgeting, reporting, and ensuring compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary financial advisor to the CEO and private equity owners, embedding financial insights into operations including production, sales, procurement, and commercial decision making to improve product costing, margins, pricing, inventory, capacity planning, and brand optimisation.
  • Translate European growth and integration strategies into actionable financial plans focused on value creation, operational efficiency, and cash management.
  • Support market opportunity evaluations, buy-and-build transactions, synergy modelling, and lead financial workstreams post-merger integration.
  • Transform and harmonize the multi-entity finance structure into an integrated Group finance platform with standardised processes, roles, and reporting.
  • Implement private equity-standard forecasting, budgeting, and planning practices emphasizing cash flow, operational KPIs, and scenario planning instead of reactive management.
  • Develop a transparent finance environment to support growth, acquisitions, ERP modernization, and scalability.
  • Demonstrate strong financial and operational expertise in manufacturing, premium consumer goods, multi-brand portfolios, and European retail/B2B/B2C models.
  • Enhance product costing, cost transparency, BOM controls, factory reporting, and plant-level KPIs for production-finance excellence.
  • Improve working capital by aligning inventory management, production planning, credit control, and optimizing cash across entities.
  • Build and lead an analytical, hands-on, and aligned finance team promoting operational and cultural values.
  • Upgrade dashboards, KPIs, and data-driven decision frameworks to boost transparency and accountability across brands.
  • Champion ERP adoption, improving data quality, automation, production controls, and Group reporting standards.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence throughout finance, operations, and commercial teams.

Candidate Requirements

  • Industry experience in manufacturing, premium consumer products, multi-brand retail or wholesale environments.
  • Proven strategic skills in scaling businesses, enhancing financial performance within private equity settings.
  • Technology-driven mindset with enthusiasm for automation, AI, ERP systems, and data analytics to support team growth and business expansion.
  • Track record of building and leading high-performing teams in complex multi-entity organizations with strong collaboration capabilities.

Compensation and Location

Position is based in the Stuttgart region with travel across Germany. Fixed salary ranges from 3220,000 to 3350,000 with additional bonus and equity participation.

Additional Information

This role offers a unique chance to direct the financial evolution of a rapidly expanding European company supported by robust private equity investment, playing a central part in driving growth, operational efficiency, and financial innovation.
