Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated full-time Grounds and Greenskeeper to maintain the external areas of the Cairns Coconut Holidays site. Reporting to the Park Manager and working independently, this role is crucial to preserving the grounds and contributing to a positive experience for guests and residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the site’s appearance to a consistently high standard
- Prepare seedbeds and planting sites
- Propagate and plant various flora including trees, shrubs, hedges, flowers, and bulbs
- Prepare lawn areas by adding topsoil, planting grass seeds, and laying instant turf
- Carry out maintenance tasks such as weeding, trimming, fertilizing, watering, and mowing of grassy and planted areas
- Prune trees and hedges; implement plant support and protective measures
- Apply pest management techniques, including spraying and dusting to control insects and plant diseases
Candidate Profile
- Strong knowledge in horticulture practices
- At least two years’ experience in garden maintenance
- Certificate III in Parks & Gardens is preferable but not mandatory
- Experience managing grounds on large, multifunctional sites
- Hold a valid 'C' Class Driver's License
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive demeanor and keen attention to detail
- Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays on a rotating roster

Compensation
The annual salary for this full-time position ranges from $69,000 to $72,000.
