The company specializes in utility protection and control engineering, microgrid designs, substation and distribution architecture, as well as energy finance, offering next-generation systems for utilities and large energy consumers to improve reliability, sustainability, and efficiency.

Role Summary

We are looking to hire a Grid Monitoring Specialist to support our GridSure Command Center— a 24/7 remote microgrid monitoring and dispatch hub servicing utilities, data centers, and major energy users worldwide. You will work closely with our US-based Network Operations Center (NOC) and Engineering teams in managing distributed energy resources (DERs), microgrids, and utility-scale energy setups across Europe and North America. This position provides valuable hands-on experience in real-world power systems, data acquisition, and automation controls, ideal for recent graduates seeking to deepen their technical expertise in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor and remotely dispatch load management assets, ensuring prompt operation and incident response.
  • Lead asset coordination and management during disaster events in collaboration with clients.
  • Prepare and deliver routine reports including emissions, grid status, and storm damage assessments.
  • Analyze operational data to enhance GridSure’s reliability and performance, performing fault analysis and triage activities.
  • Provide technical support internally and to clients, escalating complex issues as necessary to senior engineers or external vendors.
  • Develop and maintain technical and operational documentation, including procedures.
  • Maintain situational awareness of system health and assist with programming, device setup, and data integration tasks.
  • Conduct quality assurance assessments for new and current GridSure deployments.
  • Support device integration, communication protocols configuration, and factory/ site acceptance testing.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
  • 0 to 3 years of experience in electrical systems, system automation, or related fields.
  • Strong competence with IT tools and systems.
  • Basic coding/programming aptitude with a capacity for rapid technical learning.
  • Fluency in English for effective communication with clients and internal teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, troubleshooting capabilities, and ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Skilled at conveying technical concepts and solutions directly to customers.
  • Fundamental knowledge of networking protocols, computer systems, and industrial network deployments.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
  • Independent work ethic and effective communication with remote teams across different time zones.

Desirable Experience

  • Prior familiarity with automation systems or SCADA software like Ignition.
  • Experience with industrial platforms such as DEIF, Woodward, or ComAp.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation system platforms.

Benefits and Work Environment

  • A competitive salary complemented by pension, bonuses, and health insurance contributions.
  • Regular reviews focusing on performance and career development.
  • Support provided for obtaining professional certifications.
  • Opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team offering career growth, international travel, and personal development.
  • The role is office-based in Dublin 4, with scheduled on-call responsibilities covering emergency support during days, nights, and weekends.
  • Up to 20% travel may be required for site visits, manufacturing facilities, construction projects, and industrial operations.
