Role Overview
This contract position, based in Seattle, WA with remote flexibility, is for a Graphic Designer possessing an art director's perspective. The role focuses on shaping the visual identity of travel and hospitality brands primarily via digital platforms. You will curate imagery, develop refined typography, and produce brand-aligned assets enhancing all user touchpoints. You'll support email marketing design by creating hero images, tiles, and campaign graphics, working closely with internal teams and clients in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities
- Apply an art director’s insight to selecting and curating photography across campaigns.
- Design visual elements for email marketing including hero images, primary tiles, and campaign graphics without coding.
- Create structured typographic systems and layouts consistent with brand voices for digital channels.
- Generate digital and web assets such as landing pages, microsites, brochures, and emails.
- Build scalable visual systems covering digital and print touchpoints as necessary.
- Sequence and pair images effectively to narrate coherent travel and hospitality stories.
- Collaborate with creative directors, strategists, content creators, and stakeholders to ensure cohesive designs.
- Offer design direction to the broader creative team when required.
- Develop presentation visuals and pitch materials for client projects.
- Keep abreast of current design trends, tools, and techniques for innovative solutions.
- Present design concepts confidently to internal teams and clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Over six years’ professional experience in brand, editorial, or art direction, preferably within agencies or creative studios; travel, hospitality, and lifestyle sector experience is highly desirable.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating image-centric design, typography, and digital/email campaign expertise.
- Keen eye for image selection, photography, and visual curation.
- Advanced skills in typography, composition, color theory, and layout design.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and Figma.
- Knowledgeable about best practices in email design, creating supporting imagery but not coding.
- Understanding responsive digital design principles; print design skills are a plus.
- Ability to balance creative ideas with meticulous execution.
- Experience collaborating with clients and effectively translating feedback into brand-consistent creative work.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Passion for storytelling within travel, hospitality, and lifestyle domains.
Position Type & Compensation
This contract role is based in Seattle, WA, with flexible options for remote work. Potential exists for future contract extensions or broader scopes as business grows.
Compensation ranges from $45 to $60 per hour.
