Grants and Compliance Officer

Job Overview

This role involves overseeing financial records and compliance related to grants, ensuring adherence to donor and organizational standards within projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain precise financial documentation, budgets, and reports aligned with donor requirements and organizational policies.
• Track project spending to guarantee compliance with authorized budgets and grant provisions.
• Assist in preparing financial statements, audit materials, and reports for donors.
• Work closely with program units to provide financial advice and promote compliance across projects.
• Handle communications with institutional donors and address inquiries regarding audits and compliance matters.
• Leverage accounting software and Excel tools to enhance financial operations and data accuracy.
• Detect financial risks and suggest corrective measures to uphold fiscal prudence.

Qualifications and Experience

• Holds a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Possession of partial or complete professional accounting credentials (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is beneficial.
• At least three years of experience managing NGO finances, grants, or donor compliance.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with institutional donors and managing donor-funded initiatives.
• Familiarity with project accounting, budget management, financial reporting, and compliance frameworks.
• Strong analytical abilities, organizational skills, and effective communication capabilities.
• Exhibits high integrity, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
• Competent in the use of accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
