Overview
Our client, a leader in developing innovative trading and research platforms, is seeking a Graduate Software Developer to join their dynamic team. This position is perfect for recent graduates who want to gain hands-on experience designing and maintaining high-performance software used in live trading operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of applications primarily using C# and the .NET framework.
- Support the creation and scaling of robust systems tailored for trading and research functions.
- Engage in database configuration and performance tuning, focusing on technologies like SQL Server or equivalent relational databases.
- Work closely with senior developers, researchers, and traders to deliver dependable software solutions.
- Participate actively in code reviews and uphold best practices in software engineering.
- Help enhance system stability, efficiency, and automation through continuous improvements.
- Contribute ideas to refine development workflows and tools.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
- Obtained at least a 2:1 BSc degree in Computer Science or a related field from a Russell Group University.
- Solid grounding in programming concepts, especially with practical knowledge of C# or the .NET ecosystem.
- Good understanding of object-oriented programming methodologies.
- Experience or familiarity with relational database systems such as SQL Server or Oracle.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities combined with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and capability to collaborate within a team environment.
- A proactive approach and enthusiasm to learn in a rapidly evolving technical setting.
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of multi-threading and concurrent programming techniques.
- Basic knowledge of network protocols like TCP and UDP.
- Familiarity with version control tools such as Git.
- Experience with Windows-based software development environments.
- Interest or background knowledge in financial markets or trading systems.
