About the Role
Join SAP's Government Security and Secrecy (GS2) team as a Security & Risk Officer based in Canberra or Melbourne. In this hands-on role, you will provide crucial operational and administrative support to the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) Chief Security Officer and ensure compliance with government security standards such as DISP and Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) requirements. This role demands a detail-focused individual comfortable handling sensitive and classified information.
Key Responsibilities
- Support DISP compliance activities, including physical security upkeep, maintaining security related records and registers, and assisting with audits.
- Manage AGSVA security clearance processes such as applications, renewals, tracking, and record-keeping.
- Maintain and update security risk registers and SharePoint portals.
- Oversee classified information sharing systems.
- Handle personnel and facility access requests and permissions.
- Assist security-related onboarding and offboarding for staff and contractors.
- Maintain personnel security and clearance documentation according to protective security standards.
- Record security incidents, prepare reports, and escalate issues as necessary.
- Support contractor and visitor security processes, including induction procedures.
- Conduct periodic audits of access permissions and security documents.
- Respond to routine security inquiries, including some after-hours support, aiding the SAP Australia DISP CSO.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong organizational skills in physical security and security administration.
- High attention to detail with the capability to handle sensitive and classified information securely.
- Proficiency in following procedures and maintaining precise records.
- Familiarity or experience with DISP, PSPF, AGSVA processes, or protective security management systems is highly desirable.
- Prior experience in administration, risk management, or security support roles.
Qualifications and Eligibility
- Relevant qualifications in disciplines such as Government Protective Security, Information Assurance, Information Security, or Risk Management are highly preferred.
- Must be an Australian citizen eligible for and able to maintain AGSVA Personal Security Clearance.
Location & Travel
This position is located in Canberra or Melbourne, Australia, with expected travel up to 10%.
