Job description

About the role

EOG Resources is hiring a Government Relations Specialist to manage regulatory coordination and external stakeholder engagement in Abu Dhabi. The position is highly hands-on and acts as the key link between day-to-day operations and the UAE regulatory environment.

Core responsibilities

  • Own the full No Objection Certificate (NOC) process from start to finish, including assembling document packs, collecting inputs from technical teams, and following up closely so approvals are obtained without disrupting operations.
  • Serve as the main contact for organizations connected to EOG’s activities, such as Al Dhafra Municipality, the Abu Dhabi Environmental Agency, CICPA, Abu Dhabi Police, and ADNOC, while building trusted and transparent working relationships that support long-term business goals.
  • Take part in management and operations meetings to remain aligned with business priorities and spot potential regulatory blockers before they affect field activity.
  • Ensure every submission meets UAE legal requirements and EOG’s governance standards, with compliance and regulatory integrity treated as top priorities.
  • Visit government departments and EOG field locations when required to resolve issues directly and keep matters moving.

Required experience and qualifications

  • Proven, practical experience preparing, drafting, and managing NOC documentation in Abu Dhabi.
  • A strong operational approach, with the ability to treat the operations function as the main client and deliver under tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting without sacrificing accuracy or compliance.
  • Excellent command of both English and Arabic, including the ability to draft technical government documents and handle senior-level discussions and negotiations.
  • A demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct, openness, and strong transparency standards.
  • Willingness to travel between corporate offices, government offices, and occasional field sites in the Al Dhafra region.

Preferred background

  • More than 3 years of experience in the Abu Dhabi upstream oil and gas sector, particularly exploration and production (E&P).
  • Recent, direct experience dealing with the procedures of key Abu Dhabi stakeholders, including municipalities, government entities, police, military, or national guard bodies.
  • Strong understanding of evolving UAE energy policy and the environmental and security regulations relevant to the Al Dhafra region.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Law, or a related discipline.

What the company offers

  • A highly visible position where your work contributes directly to energy development outcomes in the UAE.
  • A lean and collaborative management environment that values transparency and delivery.
  • A compensation package designed for the Abu Dhabi market, including base pay, performance-based bonuses, and allowances.
