Job description

Position Overview

The Government Relations Manager will lead and manage all interactions with Saudi Arabian government entities, ensuring that the organization complies fully with national laws and regulations. This role is pivotal in administering government-related procedures including licensing, visa processing, work permits, and operational permits crucial for business continuity. Additionally, this position acts as the main contact for liaising with appointed legal partners across several Middle Eastern countries for regulatory and compliance matters. The role is based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture effective partnerships with governmental bodies such as MOHR, GOSI, MISA, Civil Defense, Customs, Chamber of Commerce, MOI, and local Municipality offices.
  • Oversee compliance with all applicable Saudi labor laws, immigration policies, and governmental processes.
  • Manage and renew business licenses, permits, and official documentation to guarantee uninterrupted operations.
  • Coordinate the issuance, renewal, and cancellation of visas, work permits, and residency permits (Iqama) for employees.
  • Facilitate a smooth transition and settlement for new employees and their families.
  • Handle the preparation and renewal of employment contracts via the Qiwa platform.
  • Administer Saudization initiatives ensuring compliance with mandated workforce quotas and regulations.
  • Track and analyze updates in Saudi laws, regulations, and business policies, providing insights and guidance to senior management.
  • Ensure punctual and accurate submission of reports, filings, and surveys to the relevant governmental authorities.
  • Develop improvements to governmental process workflows to enhance efficiency.
  • Supervise one direct report - an administrative assistant/broker.
  • Manage government-related disputes and compliance challenges jointly with HR and legal departments.
  • Serve as liaison during governmental audits, inspections, and official assessments.
  • Lead activities of the disciplinary committee and participate in disciplinary procedures.

Candidate Profile

  • Educational qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Law, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of six years of experience in government relations, preferably within logistics, e-commerce, or multinational corporation sectors.
  • Proficient understanding of Saudi labor law, immigration protocols, and general compliance standards.
  • Practical knowledge and experience using GOSI, Muqeem, Qiwa, and Mudad platforms.
  • Well-established relationships with key government and regulatory authorities.
  • Excellent Arabic and English communication skills including negotiation and stakeholder management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex regulatory environments.
  • Willingness to travel nationally to Riyadh and regionally to GCC countries as required.
