Job description

Role Overview

In this role, you will own the commercial direction for Tesla’s semiconductor sourcing strategy, connecting engineering needs with supply chain execution. You will work closely with hardware engineering teams to evaluate semiconductors and supplier options that support upcoming hardware for vehicles, energy products, and robotics.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Group Manager, you will work independently, helping shape technical choices, reducing supply bottlenecks, and building senior-level relationships with leading semiconductor suppliers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and manage the commodity roadmap by studying market trends and technology developments that inform engineering decisions.
  • Take the lead on complex commercial negotiations, including Master Supply Agreements, licensing arrangements, and pricing, to lock in strong supply terms and capacity.
  • Serve as the main link among suppliers, engineering, quality, and planning teams, turning technical needs into sourcing expectations for design updates and new product introduction programs.
  • Apply first-principles thinking to uncover cost-reduction opportunities and align stakeholders on practical plans to deliver savings.
  • Spot supply risks early and work with Supplier Industrialization Engineers to remove constraints before they disrupt production.
  • Gather and examine data on supply chain health, component costs, and supplier performance.

Candidate Profile

  • At least 3 years of experience in supply chain, strategic sourcing, or operations management, with electronics or semiconductor experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of engineering product development workflows and the full supply chain lifecycle.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, SQL, or Power BI for reporting, analysis, and model building.
  • Clear communication skills, flexibility, and a strong willingness to learn in a dynamic environment.
