About the Role
YouTube Marketing aims to deeply understand its users and connect them with the inspiring content and creators on its platform. The marketing team is responsible for shaping public perception of YouTube and engaging consumers, creators, and influencers through diverse marketing efforts.
This position resides within YouTube Marketing’s Strategy and Operations team, which provides vital insights, coordinates cross-functional alignment, and drives strategic projects to advance YouTube’s marketing goals globally. The Associate will collaborate with leaders across Marketing, Product, Finance, and People Operations to address complex challenges and execute high-impact initiatives that enhance operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Clarify project goals and scope, contribute to project planning, and assist in delivering project components efficiently and effectively.
- Assist with data-driven business planning and partnership alignment to finalize annual goals and strategy.
- Conduct research to enhance business judgment, improve market comprehension, and support fact-based problem solving for complex issues.
- Identify and propose strategic opportunities to help achieve long-term marketing objectives.
- Regularly track, analyze, and interpret multi-dimensional business metrics to provide actionable insights guiding strategic decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent practical background.
- At least two years of professional experience in management consulting, business strategy, investment banking, venture capital, or private equity.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with clients, executives, or partners.
- Proven ability to develop business strategies and manage cross-functional initiatives.
- Preferred: strong business judgment, problem-solving aptitude, quantitative analysis skills, and experience communicating to senior leaders.
- Familiarity with analytical tools such as SQL, statistical methods, predictive modeling, and spreadsheet software.
- Understanding of integrated marketing functions and how they drive impact.
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating and influencing teams and senior leadership.
- Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-changing environments and knowing when to seek additional guidance.

The role may be based in Chicago, IL, Los Angeles, CA (including Playa Vista campus), or New York, NY, allowing applicants to express their location preference upon application.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role in the US is $95,000 to $136,000 annually, complemented by a 15% bonus target, equity awards, and comprehensive benefits.
