Overview

This position involves formulating and executing global sourcing and procurement strategies for Facilities and Utilities categories, managing spend of around $254 million for GE Healthcare. The role includes supplier negotiations to secure favorable contract terms and maintaining stakeholder satisfaction. The incumbent is expected to leverage industry insights and market dynamics to enhance sourcing strategies and drive continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will build and maintain relationships with vital business stakeholders ensuring alignment with current and future business needs. Additionally, the role entails leading and developing a team of three to four professionals, fostering a productive and high-achieving team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sourcing and category management strategies that support organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate across functions including Global Real Estate, Environment Health & Safety, manufacturing, engineering, quality, and other departments.
  • Manage supplier engagements, conduct RFP processes, negotiate contracts, and ensure adherence to quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform market intelligence and competitive benchmarking to guide procurement decisions.
  • Drive initiatives that achieve cost efficiencies, mitigate risks, and promote sustainability.
  • Oversee supplier transitions, conduct audits, and assess supplier performance.
  • Track and analyze category performance data and initiate improvements as required.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, quality assurance systems, and legal frameworks.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management for team members.
  • Support both global and regional sourcing programs and projects within the Facilities and Utilities categories.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Substantial background in sourcing and category management; equivalent to a bachelor's degree or a high school diploma with eight or more years of related experience.
  • Proven negotiation skills with a successful history of contract and statement of work agreements, including pricing and terms optimization.
  • Adept at operating within matrix organizations, using spend analytics to prepare business cases, and influencing senior leadership decisions.
  • Experience with developing global sourcing strategies aligned with company-wide objectives.
  • Expertise in crafting complex RFx processes, cost models, supplier scorecards, and award criteria.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with demonstrated problem-solving and project management capabilities.
  • Highly adaptable and proactive, able to work effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments with strong integrity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work beyond standard office hours as necessary.
  • Business professional fluency in English.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Additional language skills are advantageous.
