Position Overview
The Global Finance Director will spearhead financial leadership and governance for TOAST worldwide. This role entails overseeing financial planning, reporting, compliance, cash flow, commercial finance, and operational finance across various international operations. As a crucial leadership team member, the director will provide financial insights and strategic advice to drive growth, profitability, and sustainable long-term development. Strong partnerships with Client Services, Production, Operations, and Executive Leadership will be essential to ensure sound financial controls while enabling commercial flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the global finance function across all operating regions.
- Design and execute financial strategies in alignment with corporate objectives.
- Advise and guide the executive team on financial and commercial matters.
- Support strategic decisions with finance-based analysis and forecasting.
- Conduct annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
- Develop financial models for growth initiatives and investment planning.
- Track financial performance against budgets and targets.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities through ongoing analysis.
- Collaborate with business leaders to optimize profitability and financial outcomes.
- Evaluate project and client profitability across business units.
- Advise on pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and commercial terms.
- Enhance revenue recognition, margin control, and utilization reporting.
- Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and treasury globally.
- Manage global cash flow and working capital efficiently.
- Maintain banking relationships and coordinate with financial service providers.
- Implement scalable financial processes and controls.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and tax requirements in all jurisdictions.
- Manage audits and maintain relationships with external auditors.
- Oversee corporate taxes including VAT, sales tax and international obligations.
- Support legal and regulatory adherence worldwide.
- Facilitate international expansion, entity management, and financial integration of new acquisitions or business units.
- Develop unified reporting frameworks across territories.
- Foster consistency in global financial policies and procedures.
- Build and lead a high-performing global finance team with clear objectives, performance metrics, and development plans.
- Promote a culture centered on accountability, precision, and continuous improvement.
- Support succession planning and capability building within the finance function.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Extensive senior finance leadership experience within global organizations.
- Qualified accounting certification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Experience managing operations across multiple entities and currencies.
- Strong background in commercial finance and business partnership.
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
- Proven ability to enhance financial processes and internal controls.
- Knowledge of international tax, compliance, and regulatory environments.
- Preference for candidates with backgrounds in agency, technology, digital, production, or professional services.

This full-time position is based in the Greater Syracuse-Auburn area of the United States with flexible hybrid working options available. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience at the Global Finance Director level.
