Overview

We are partnering with a premier global biopharmaceutical company to recruit a Global Director of Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T). This senior leadership role focuses on overseeing and guiding the strategic execution of MS&T efforts for a diverse and expanding antibody portfolio. The chosen professional will be pivotal in coordinating efforts between development, manufacturing, quality assurance, and internal/external manufacturing partners to ensure efficient, scalable, and regulatory-compliant production of innovative biologic therapies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Shape and lead the worldwide MS&T strategy for antibody production to support both clinical trials and commercial products throughout their lifecycle.
  • Offer technical guidance in antibody process development, including scaling up, characterization, validation, and continuous enhancement initiatives.
  • Manage and facilitate effective technology transfers among development locations, manufacturing plants, and Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs).
  • Develop and refine manufacturing approaches that enhance process dependability, scalability, cost-effectiveness, and supply chain stability.
  • Collaborate across departments such as CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls), Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to advance product development.
  • Lead, mentor, and build a high-achieving MS&T team that promotes scientific rigor and operational innovation.
  • Support regulatory filings, inspections, and communications with health authorities by leveraging comprehensive CMC knowledge and process expertise.
  • Identify and drive initiatives for process optimization, digital transformation, and best practice adoption within global manufacturing operations.

Required Background and Qualifications

  • Extensive professional experience in Manufacturing Science & Technology, Process Development, or Technical Operations within the biopharmaceutical sector.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of antibody manufacturing, including purification, drug substance and product processes, and control strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in leading global technology transfers and preparing manufacturing sites for clinical and commercial product manufacturing.
  • Strong familiarity with GMP manufacturing settings, process validation, regulatory compliance, and product lifecycle management.
  • Proven leadership capabilities managing international teams and influencing stakeholders within complex matrix organizations.
  • Experience collaborating with CDMOs and handling external manufacturing partnerships is highly regarded.
  • Advanced academic credentials such as a PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related fields are preferred.
