Global Business Development Director - LANGUAGECERT Test of English (LTE)

Overview

Take the lead in shaping the worldwide growth strategy for one of the fastest expanding English language assessment tools, the LANGUAGECERT Test of English (LTE), under PeopleCert, a global leader in certification and assessment. This role presents a unique chance to influence global education markets by spearheading new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and increasing the product's worldwide footprint.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement a global commercial expansion plan for the LTE product.
• Identify and prioritize international markets with strong growth potential.
• Develop and nurture a pipeline of investors, franchisees, distributors, and business partners globally.
• Engage entrepreneurs and education groups to introduce LANGUAGECERT operations in new regions.
• Lead contract negotiations to secure franchise, licensing, and strategic partnership deals.
• Build and maintain relationships with Ministries of Education and Labour, universities, professional bodies, and government agencies worldwide.
• Expand the network of authorized partners to increase reach and revenue.
• Work collaboratively with regional teams to ensure smooth partner onboarding and market entries.
• Coordinate with Product, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Success teams to execute global growth initiatives effectively.
• Represent PeopleCert and LANGUAGECERT at international events, exhibitions, and governmental meetings.
• Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and spot new business chances to advise leadership.
• Keep an updated sales and opportunity forecast using CRM tools.
• Meet or exceed revenue, partnership, and expansion goals aligned with company objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business, International Business, Marketing, Education, or similar fields; advanced degrees like an MBA are advantageous.
• At least 10 years of experience in international business development, including 5 years in senior leadership roles.
• Proven success in international market development and delivering substantial commercial growth.
• Expertise in franchise development, channel creation, strategic partnerships, or global market entries.
• A robust global network within education, certification, EdTech, assessment, governmental, or workforce sectors.
• Experience collaborating with investors, education entrepreneurs, and partners across various geographical regions.
• Deep understanding of global educational ecosystems and English language testing markets.
• Strong negotiation, influence, and stakeholder management skills at executive and governmental levels.
• Commercial insight for managing complex international deals effectively.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics CRM or similar platforms.
• Advanced English communication skills (C2 level certification preferred); additional languages are a plus.
• Willingness and availability for frequent international travel.
