About the Role
For the technical division of Rostocker Straßenbahn AG, we are looking for a track maintenance specialist to start as soon as possible in Rostock. The company helps keep bus, tram, and ferry operations running on time for around 46 million passengers each year. More than 850 employees contribute in very different roles, from maintaining vehicles and welding tracks to shift planning, payroll, and kitchen operations, making RSAG one of the largest and most diverse employers in the Hanseatic and university city.
Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance and repair work on track infrastructure.
- Handle removal and installation of ballast, tamping work, and drainage tasks.
- Renew track surfacing and inspect, repair, or replace sleepers, sleeper fastenings, rails, and small track components.
- Operate vehicles, construction machinery, and equipment safely.
- Clean and maintain the track infrastructure and support winter service when needed.
Requirements
- Completed vocational training in metalworking or track construction, or at least 3 years of professional experience in this field.
- Valid driving licence class B; class C is an advantage.
- Authorization to operate wheel loaders or lifting equipment is desirable.
- Good physical fitness and flexibility.
- Team-oriented, dependable, resilient, and proactive working style.
- Good computer skills and willingness to work shifts or be on call.
Compensation & Benefits
The starting salary is around EUR 41,300 gross per year under the TV-N MV collective agreement. The position comes with a permanent contract and 30 days of annual leave. You will receive the Deutschlandticket free of charge as a job ticket. Bike leasing is available if you want to use it. The employer also contributes to occupational pension provision and offers additional employee benefits such as discounts in the company canteen, discounts at fitness centres, and use of a free service agency.
