Deputy Shift Department Leader (m/f/d) - Airport Fire Brigade

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the shift department leader in managing and coordinating the firefighting shift team.
• Lead the mobile fire brigade command during operations and contribute to technical command decisions.
• Direct all personnel and resources during emergency incidents.
• Support resource management in planning personnel deployment.
• Organize, execute, and review emergency exercises.
• Plan, implement, and monitor training and continuing education in collaboration with the training department.
• Ensure continuous operational readiness of the fire brigade, maintaining compliance with legal and safety standards.
• Monitor, document, and analyze compliance with fire safety regulations, proposing improvements to leadership.
• Manage personnel matters including duty and deployment planning, implementing framework schedules, performance evaluations, qualifications, and employee motivation.
• Participate in internal budgeting and cost control activities in an advisory and professional capacity.

Qualifications and Profile

• Completed advanced training for higher fire service positions.
• University or technical college degree plus certification as a platoon leader or equivalent qualification.
• Successful completion of the Fire Inspector course.
• Minimum of five years' professional experience in firefighting.
• Strong leadership abilities with skills to guide and coordinate emergency teams.
• Basic knowledge of business administration.
• Physical and mental fitness in accordance with fire service regulations, including valid medical clearance (G 26/3).
• High resilience and suitability for shift work.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and assertiveness skills.
• Possession of a valid CE-class driving license.
