Role Summary

The Glass Wash Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and sterility of laboratory glassware through basic and specialized washing procedures. Utilizing equipment such as glassware washing instruments, conveyor loading systems, autoclaves, and high-temperature ovens, the assistant ensures all glassware meets contamination-free standards. Routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting are integral to the position.

Primary Responsibilities

• Execute both standard and custom cleaning and sterilization of glassware using manual and automated tools, including specialty cleaning baths and scientific cleaning machinery, comprising 70% of duties.
• Assist in laundering lab coats by managing collection, delivery, inventory, and distribution to team members, accounting for 10% of tasks.
• Maintain and effectively troubleshoot advanced automated instruments, dedicating 5% of work effort.
• Manage fixer and developer levels in dark rooms and ensure daily cleanliness, contributing to 5% of responsibilities.
• Accurately document usage data through written records and system entries, representing 5% of job functions.
• Maintain sufficient inventory of stock items, covering 5% of daily tasks.

Candidate Profile

• Possession of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in dish room operations, glass washing, or housekeeping/environmental services is preferred.
• Capability to comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Competent in documenting daily activities, including data tracking, in written formats.
• Skillful at multitasking with efficient time management.
• Strict adherence to company policies and departmental procedures covering appearance, uniform standards, safety protocols, confidentiality, and smoking regulations.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is between $16.25 and $22.86 per hour. Actual pay will be influenced by factors such as candidate experience, skills, education, geographic location, and internal compensation equity.
