About the Role
This position is part of the Rooms & Guest Services Operations team in Doha, Qatar. The Runner helps keep hotel operations running smoothly by moving information, items, and support where they are needed, exactly when they are needed. The role may involve assisting guests directly in their rooms or supporting departments such as housekeeping, engineering, banquets, restaurants, and the front office.
The job is focused on creating a seamless and memorable guest experience while helping different teams stay coordinated across the property. It is a non-management, full-time role based onsite at the conference centre location in Doha.
Key Responsibilities
Runners support multiple departments and handle a variety of service tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day hotel operations. They are expected to respond quickly, work across teams, and deliver items or support services accurately and professionally.
- Deliver requested items and services to guests and hotel teams in a timely manner.
- Assist housekeeping, engineering, banquets, restaurants, the front office, and other operational areas as needed.
- Move around the property efficiently to support service delivery and coordination.
- Help maintain consistent guest satisfaction by ensuring service needs are met at the right time.
- Follow safety practices, company policies, and operational procedures at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the organization’s quality standards.
- Present a professional appearance and communicate appropriately with guests and colleagues.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned to support hotel operations.
Role Expectations
This position requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, and movement through narrow, enclosed, elevated, or stair-access areas. The role also involves reading and checking information in different formats, including small print, as well as visually inspecting tools, equipment, or machines.
The work is physically active and may require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or placing objects weighing up to 55 pounds without assistance. The job also involves reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, stooping, and pulling.
Preferred Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred for this role. No prior related work experience is required, and there is no supervisory experience needed. No license or certification is necessary.
