Role Overview
RealNZ is seeking a dynamic General Manager of Sales & Market Development to spearhead our sales initiatives, enhance market presence, and drive sustainable revenue gains both within New Zealand and internationally. Reporting directly to the Chief Customer & Sales Officer, this key leadership position is accountable for maximizing sales opportunities, expanding distribution networks, and fostering long-term business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement comprehensive sales and market development strategies for RealNZ.
- Boost profitable revenue across domestic and global markets.
- Broaden trade and travel distribution channels and forge strategic partnerships.
- Lead initiatives aimed at elevating visitor numbers, increasing market share, and enhancing brand awareness.
- Develop and nurture strong alliances with industry stakeholders such as airlines, tourism operators, and partners.
- Achieve annual targets related to revenue, yield, and budget.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing sales leadership team.
- Represent RealNZ at prominent industry events, trade shows, and market forums.
Candidate Profile
- Over a decade of senior leadership experience in sales and business development.
- Proven track record managing international sales teams and working across global markets.
- Extensive networks within tourism, leisure, travel, or destination marketing industries.
- Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and commercial outcomes.
- Strategic thinker with strong execution capability.
- Excellent stakeholder management and executive-level presentation skills.
- Robust financial and commercial insight to interpret data for actionable strategies.
- Energetic, resilient, and collaborative leadership approach that inspires team performance.
