Overview and Key Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the operations of Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Lebanon, located at 410 Gateway Ave, Lebanon, IN 46052. This role demands exemplary leadership and communication skills to guide all team members towards seamless hotel operations. Qualified candidates can expect a $10,000 starting bonus and a company vehicle.
Primary Duties
- Manage all operational departments according to the organizational structure.
- Conduct regular meetings with department heads to ensure alignment.
- Enforce strict compliance with hotel policies, standard operating procedures, and service standards.
- Lead major property initiatives, including capital improvements, customer service excellence, and refurbishments.
- Resolve guest complaints effectively and oversee service recovery processes.
- Prepare, present, and achieve the hotel’s annual operating budget, marketing and sales plans, and capital budgets.
- Drive hotel profitability by exceeding revenue and guest satisfaction goals.
- Make strategic decisions that prioritize the hotel's and management's interests.
- Set both short-term and long-term strategic objectives for the property.
- Identify and implement cost-saving improvements.
- Interpret profit and loss statements to develop impactful financial strategies.
- Monitor daily business reports to guide decisions.
- Ensure accurate monthly financial forecasts for rooms, food & beverage, and administrative expenses.
- Maximize room revenue through innovative sales techniques and yield management programs.
- Generate monthly financial reports for owners and stakeholders.
- Develop plans and budgets covering revenues and costs for ownership review.
- Support procurement of supplies and negotiate contracts with third-party vendors.
- Make final decisions on key staff hiring.
- Coordinate with heads of departments for flawless execution of activities.
- Oversee and manage all departments through close collaboration with department heads.
- Develop the hotel executive team to facilitate career advancement and development.
- Take ownership of guest complaints and ensure accountability of department heads.
- Provide inspiring leadership to hotel staff.
- Lead comprehensive business planning efforts.
- Respond to audits with actions aimed at continual improvements.
- Participate in corporate client relations and assist in new client acquisition with the sales team when necessary.
- Support residential sales initiatives and develop strong sales opportunities.
- Ensure the quality of operations through internal and external audits.
- Comply with legal and regulatory requirements including Occupational Health & Safety, fire regulations, and other relevant laws.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must possess a university degree in hotel management or an equivalent field. Significant experience is required, especially in opening, managing, or repositioning hotels with verifiable success. Excellent computer skills are essential.
- A minimum of 15 to 20 years in the hospitality sector with extensive luxury and international exposure, preferably including experience in remote locations.
- At least 5 to 10 years in a General Manager or Assistant General Manager role.
