Job Overview
This full-time position calls for a General Labourer responsible for the safe and effective operation of cranes and processing machinery. The role requires ensuring that all equipment operates within specifications, conducting daily inspections of lifting equipment before use, and completing all necessary reporting tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate cranes and processing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform daily equipment inspections prior to startup.
- Complete all required reports accurately and timely.
- Identify packaged materials conforming to sales order requirements.
- Report any non-standard or defective products to the Production Supervisor for appropriate action.
- Apply finish good tags to packaged products as needed.
- Keep inventory material locations updated using RTS system.
- Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping in the work area.
- Participate in and lead initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
- Provide training for new employees when necessary.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
Candidate Qualifications
- Experience working in a production or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Strong dedication to continuous improvement and workplace safety.
- Demonstrated interest and capability in assuming increased responsibilities and advancing within the role.
Compensation and Terms
This role offers a base wage of $23.17 per hour, complemented by a target variable pay of 4%. The position is full-time and onsite in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
