Role Summary

We are seeking a General Labourer to inspect, grade, sort, and process ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals, while keeping the work area organized to meet operational goals. This full-time role involves direct customer interaction, material handling, and accurate data entry, with a focus on delivering exceptional service and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to receive ferrous and non-ferrous scrap materials.
• Inspect, grade, sort, and process various scrap metals efficiently.
• Enter non-ferrous material codes and weights accurately into computerized systems.
• Prepare and provide yard tickets to customers.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the workspace to support operational targets.
• Operate counterbalance forklifts and skid steers following safety and company procedures to move materials effectively.
• Separate materials by commodity, eliminating all non-conforming items.
• Provide excellent customer service at all times.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year’s experience in production, warehouse, or landscaping environments.
• Preferred but not mandatory: One year’s experience operating forklifts or skid steers (bobcat).
• Must consent to a criminal background check.

Work Hours and Compensation

• Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Hourly wage: $21.16.
• Overtime opportunities available.
