Role Overview
This position is for a practical, detail-oriented Accountant who will join the finance and accounting function and report to the Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with ERP platforms, purchasing and payables tools, the general ledger, and account reconciliations, while contributing in a dynamic, fast-growing AI software environment.
The role supports core accounting operations such as accounts payable, travel and expense processing, cash management, prepaid items, and accrual accounting. It is a temporary role and may be converted into a full-time position.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle routine accounting tasks and month-end close work, including journal entry preparation and reconciliations for items such as prepaids and accruals.
- Prepare schedules and analytical support for financial statement notes, disclosures, and external audit requests.
- Manage the accounts payable workflow from invoice entry through approvals and payment execution using tools such as Bill.com and SAP S/4HANA.
- Support employee travel and expense reimbursements, enforce expense policies, and reconcile related accounts using systems such as Navan, Concur, Bill, Expensify, Ramp, NetSuite, and SAP S/4HANA.
- Assist with cash operations, including bank statement uploads, cash matching, and bank reconciliations.
- Keep vendor information accurate and support 1099 reporting requirements.
- Work with teams across Engineering, Sales, FP&A, and People Ops to ensure expenses are coded correctly and invoices are processed on time.
- Assist with audits and other compliance-related activities as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Background in public accounting, ideally Big 4 or an equivalent firm, is preferred; strong technical accounting experience is also acceptable.
- At least 4 years of general accounting experience, ideally in software or technology.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA and NetSuite, plus procure-to-pay tools such as Bill.com, Ariba, Navan, and Concur.
- Solid working knowledge of US GAAP and core accounting concepts.
- Intermediate Excel capability, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and comfort using cloud-based finance tools.
- Strong attention to detail, good organization, and effective time management.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with multi-entity or international operations.
- CPA qualification or CPA-track status is an advantage.
- Exposure to financial automation or ERP improvement projects.
- SaaS industry experience.
- Experience performing monthly balance sheet and income statement flux analysis.
- Prior use of T&E platforms such as Navan, Expensify, or Concur.
