Job description

Role Overview

This position is focused on growing strategic cloud business in Dubai by identifying high-potential accounts, building trusted relationships with decision-makers, and converting customer needs into qualified opportunities. The role places strong emphasis on AI and intelligent cloud solutions, with responsibility for expanding adoption across existing and new customers while supporting long-term account growth.

Customer Relationship Building and Opportunity Development

  • Study the target industry landscape in the assigned market, spot prospective customers, and map the decision-making structure to uncover genuine business needs.
  • Communicate with customers in business terms to establish credibility, understand product and technical requirements, and turn those needs into qualified sales opportunities.
  • Expand revenue from current accounts through upsell and cross-sell efforts, improving customer experience across service delivery and business collaboration while increasing cloud usage.
  • Keep in regular touch with existing and potential clients to stay aligned with their strategy, budget planning, vendor mix, organization structure, and technical setup.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships at key decision points, especially with CXO-level or CXO-direct stakeholders, to earn strategic backing for long-term business and technology partnerships.

Product and Technical Value Communication

  • Use strong knowledge of the customer’s industry and operating environment to explain the business and technical value of Alibaba Cloud offerings, including Apsara Cloud Operating System, the 7 Core Products, and AI / intelligent computing solutions.
  • Clearly differentiate Alibaba Cloud against competing providers and position it as the preferred strategic partner.
  • Present standardized product solutions directly to customers, or work with Solutions Architects to explain customized solutions that match specific business scenarios and demonstrate measurable business value.

Sales Execution and Deal Conversion

  • Accelerate customer decision-making and adoption of cloud solutions by coordinating resources and maintaining consistent value delivery.
  • Use negotiation, persuasive communication, and tailored commercial proposals to convert opportunities into closed business while meeting targets and creating win-win outcomes.
  • Identify customer experience issues during product use and escalate them internally so cross-functional teams can resolve them and improve products, service quality, and operating processes.

Business Support

  • Support the full customer lifecycle by coordinating internal teams to ensure successful implementation and timely resolution of product usage issues.
  • Drive continuous adoption and optimization of Alibaba Cloud solutions on the customer side to help achieve technical and business objectives.
  • Primary focus area: MaaS and AI.

Requirements

  • More than 5 years of experience in the cloud computing sector, with a strong record in public cloud sales, B2B/B2G sales, or pre-sales.
  • Experience in large-scale customer migration projects.
  • Experience growing revenue within key accounts.
  • Industry-specific knowledge is preferred.
  • Exposure to core competitors is preferred.
  • Ability to understand how products create value across common industry and business scenarios and identify customer pain points linked to digital transformation.
  • Capability to diagnose technical issues within a customer’s business context and recommend competitive solutions.
  • Experience building partnerships with mid-sized to large enterprises from the ground up and quickly identifying key internal influencers.
  • Ability to create early value in customer engagements and plan future expansion opportunities for scalable growth.
  • Skill in developing quantified upsell plans and turning them into a detailed, customer-approved CSPA with clear strategy, execution path, and measurable targets.
  • Experience leading customer upgrade initiatives, including movement from IaaS resources to higher-value PaaS, data, and AI services.
  • Ability to independently initiate senior-level discussions with customer stakeholders such as CTOs or project owners and influence decision-making through technical and commercial dialogue.
  • Familiarity with customer requirements, Alibaba Cloud partner policies, and the partner directory.
  • Ability to manage customer expectations, evaluate partner strengths and limitations, and support partner selection.
  • Strong relationship-building skills across multiple levels of a customer organization to influence decision-makers and gather critical project information.
  • Capability to lead mid-sized projects end to end, including strategy formulation, resource coordination, negotiations, and contract closure.
  • Experience planning and leading executive engagement activities such as C-suite visits to deepen strategic relationships.
