Role Overview

The Gas Station Cashier is a full-time on-site role based in West Edmonton. The key duties include managing customer payments for fuel, merchandise, lottery tickets, and prepaid items efficiently and courteously at the register. This involves processing cash, debit, and credit payments, ensuring accurate cash handling and balancing the till at shift end.

Responsibilities

• Handle sales transactions including fuel and store products with accuracy and customer service focus.
• Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems proficiently.
• Perform cash counting and maintain proper cash register balancing.
• Restock shelves and refrigeration units with merchandise as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the sales floor, restrooms, and exterior areas in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Assist with oversight of fuel pumps and address customer inquiries and concerns promptly.
• Support general store operations and team collaboration as required.

Qualifications and Skills

• Basic math skills and meticulousness in cash handling.
• Strong customer service abilities and effective communication with diverse clientele.
• Dependability, punctuality, and excellent time management to meet work schedules.
• Adherence to safety protocols and store policies.
• Physical ability to stand for prolonged periods and perform light manual tasks like lifting and stocking.
