About the Role

Join the Garden Centre team at Mitre10 MEGA Taupo, a place dedicated to helping customers enhance their homes and gardens. This hands-on position involves working directly with a broad variety of plants, gardening products, and customers. Your horticultural expertise will be essential in guiding customers to select the best plants and care techniques for their outdoor spaces. The role requires availability for 24 to 32 hours weekly, with some flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer knowledgeable advice on plant species, maintenance, and gardening solutions tailored to customer needs.
• Utilize horticultural expertise to assist customers in successfully tending to their gardens.
• Ensure plant health, appearance, and overall quality are maintained consistently.
• Perform watering, pruning, and ongoing plant care duties.
• Manage merchandising tasks including pricing and rotating stock.
• Provide friendly and informed service to customers.
• Operate safely and effectively within an outdoor retail setting.

Candidate Profile

• Genuine enthusiasm for plants and gardening practices.
• Prior experience in garden centers, nurseries, or horticultural roles is desirable.
• Confidence in identifying plants and advising on their care and seasonal requirements.
• Positive, customer-oriented mindset.
• Physical capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Willingness to work weekends and public holidays when necessary.
