About the Role
Join Snowshoe Mountain as a full-time plumber and enjoy a rewarding year-round position located at 10 Snowshoe Drive, Snowshoe, WV. Key Responsibilities
- Review building plans and drawings to plan the required tools and installation sequence.
- Inspect building structures to identify and avoid obstructions that could weaken structural integrity when installing pipes.
- Mark locations for pipe connections and openings in walls and floors accurately.
- Cut openings to fit pipes and pipe fittings in walls and floors.
- Cut and thread pipes to meet specifications.
- Bend pipes to specified angles using pipe bending machinery or manual methods.
- Assemble and install various pipe types, including metal pipes (iron, steel, brass, copper, lead) and non-metal pipes (glass, vitrified clay, plastic).
- Connect pipes using screws, threads, flanges, compression fittings, bolts, solder, plastic solvent, and caulk joints.
- Test pipe systems by filling with water or air and reading pressure gauges to detect leaks.
- Install and repair plumbing fixtures like sinks, toilets, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposals, dishwashers, and water softeners.
- Maintain plumbing by replacing washers on leaky faucets, repairing burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains.
- Perform welding tasks to attach fixtures to steel structural components if needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is required.
- Preferably six months to one year of related experience or combined education and experience in plumbing.
