Position Overview
A family with a 5-month-old child in Chelsea, NYC is seeking a dedicated full-time nanny/housekeeper to start ideally between March and April. The role guarantees a full-time schedule of 40-50 hours weekly, although current needs are closer to 30 hours, with an expectation for hours to increase over time based on both family needs and candidate preferences.
Work Schedule and Flexibility
The weekly hours and schedule will be prearranged and flexible. Typically, most weeks involve 8 am to 1 pm Monday through Friday, with 1-2 evenings weekly from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm and occasional weekend hours. Evening hours adjust daytime work accordingly to ensure no more than six working days a week. The role requires periodic travel with the family several times a year to manage childcare during vacations ranging from a few days to up to two weeks. Travel planning occurs at least one month in advance. While no paid holidays are included, the position offers numerous paid vacation days available for use during non-travel holiday periods.

Responsibilities
- Engage the child with developmentally appropriate activities.
- Handle diaper changes, bathing, and hygiene maintenance.
- Manage the child’s sleep and nutrition schedules, including meal preparation over time.
- Design enjoyable and creative activities.
- Read to the child and provide outdoor playtime, daycare, playdates, and group activities.
- Perform household cleaning and tidying tasks.
- Complete laundry duties, organizing clothes in closets.
- Wash dishes, baby bottles, and organize kitchen items.
- Take out trash, vacuum, clean surfaces, and maintain general cleanliness.
- Run errands and walk the family dog.
- Make beds and organize pantries, closets, and refrigeration units.
- Accompany the family on trips to assist with childcare.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of full-time experience with infants and toddlers.
- Proven housekeeping abilities.
- Flexible availability for schedules and travel.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Two to three strong references relevant to childcare.
- Willingness and ability to travel with the family.
- Certification in CPR and first aid.
- Up-to-date vaccinations including TDAP, flu shot annually, and chickenpox vaccine or immunity.
- Comfort with dogs.
- Possession of a valid passport.
Additional Benefits and Compensation
- Competitive annual salary approximately between $90,000 and $110,000 based on experience and confirmed hours.
