HelloCollege supports families throughout the entire college planning journey, offering personalized virtual counseling, interactive group sessions, online courses, and educational tools. Our mission is to assist students in gaining admission to their preferred schools, minimizing college costs, and graduating on schedule with relevant employment.

Position Overview

The Full-Time College Counselor will oversee a portfolio of students and families enrolled in the HelloCollege program, aiming to help each student fulfill their college planning objectives as well as contributing to company growth. This mid-level role reports directly to the Director of Counseling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage up to 125 students adhering to HelloCollege's service standards, including scheduled meetings and response time commitments.
  • Guide students through the curriculum and milestones to ensure program completion.
  • Maintain a high engagement rate (95%) and retention rate (95%).
  • Support referral generation, testimonials, consultation bookings, and online reviews.
  • Conduct virtual planning sessions with students and parents to understand needs and recommend appropriate programs.
  • Assist in managing partnerships with schools and organizations.
  • Build constructive and lasting relationships with families.
  • Track all communications and progress diligently.
  • Lead up to four online workshops monthly within areas of expertise.
  • Stay informed on higher education and college admissions trends.
  • Participate actively in team activities, mentorship, and knowledge exchange.
  • Contribute to fostering a positive workplace culture and promoting company expansion.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or certification in College Counseling is mandatory.
  • Experience with Ivy League or highly selective college admissions counseling, school counseling, or student advising required.
  • Ability to support high-achieving, affluent clients academically and personally.
  • Deep understanding of selective US colleges and universities is essential.
  • Capability to engage diverse students and families across academic, racial/ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven collaborative skills and relationship-building with various stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Willingness to contribute to supplementary tasks such as blogging or research.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive; quick learner of new technologies.
  • Public speaking and event facilitation experience is advantageous.

Additional Information

  • Preference for candidates in CST, MST, or PST time zones for scheduling compatibility.
  • Annual salary ranges from $72,000 to $80,000, commensurate with experience and education.
