Job description

Role Overview

This position involves working closely with law enforcement officers in Bergen, New Jersey, to establish professional relationships and assist community members who have had interactions with law enforcement. The liaison will provide support, referrals, timely documentation, and education about mental health to officers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with law enforcement officers.
  • Offer supportive outreach and assistance to individuals involved with law enforcement who may require services.
  • Facilitate referrals to appropriate resources and services as needed.
  • Complete documentation promptly in line with agency policies.
  • Conduct follow-up communications to ensure ongoing support needs are addressed.
  • Educate law enforcement personnel on recognizing mental health symptoms, the mental health system, and available services.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work or Psychology.
  • Minimum of three years direct experience providing mental health care, preferably in community mental health settings.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.

Working Hours and Location

  • Workdays: Monday through Thursday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM; Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
  • Job location is in Bergen, New Jersey.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary ranging from $60,000 to $65,000, reflective of experience and dedication.
