Overview

Citi’s Commercial Banking division seeks full-time analysts dedicated to supporting businesses with annual revenues from $10 million to over $3 billion. The team aims to help clients optimize their growth potential by leveraging Citi’s full suite of banking products including deposits, lending, cash management, trade, foreign exchange, and capital markets solutions. The two-year Analyst Program is designed to cultivate top talent into future commercial banking leaders worldwide.

Program Structure and Training

The 24-month program commences in July with a comprehensive 10-week orientation combining formal training and practical experience. Trainees gain skills across sales, credit, product knowledge, technology, and professional development, supported by a robust mentorship system involving junior and senior leaders. Afterward, placement into a Commercial Banking team aligns analysts’ interests with business needs.

Role Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth company research and industry evaluations
  • Analyze financial statements and build financial models to assess valuations, discounted cash flows, and pro-forma scenarios
  • Assist in the commercial lending process, including various credit products like revolving credit lines, term loans, syndicated and leveraged loans, and cross-border financing facilitated by Citi’s global operations in 26 countries
  • Contribute to managing the client experience by collaborating with bankers and product teams to tailor product solutions that aid client goals
  • Support deal management and prepare client-facing materials such as presentation decks, pitch books, and prospect memos
  • Coordinate with cross-functional partners including credit risk, controls, legal, marketing, operations, risk, compliance, and IT teams

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting with an expected graduation date in December 2026 or May/June 2027
  • Demonstrated academic excellence with a preferred GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship now or in the future

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary is $100,000, with a possible range from $95,000 to $130,000 dependent on experience. Citi also offers discretionary and formula-driven incentives and retention awards.
